Area for Amahi Benchmarking
Tools
Some pointers in this Windows/Linux File Sharing performance
Tips and Ideas
What I'd like to see in such testing would be at least:
- Network conditions (e.g. "this script has detected a connection of 1Gbit with Jumbo Frames capability")
- Testing for transferring a few thousand small files, as well as sustained throughput of a large file
- In order to understand the performance impact of filesystem: (i) A reference filesystem which works on many different platforms such as Linux and Windows - suggestion is NTFS. (ii) The platform optimum file system.
- System Spec, eg. Motherboard, CPU, HDDs, HDD configuration in BIOS such as AHCI
