This worked great on my network, but may require some additional adjustments for others. For more assistance, see the FAQ [http://www.amahi.org/faq#I-want-to-add-a-printer-to-my-HDA-and-make-it-a-printer-server-how-do-I-do-it (I want to add a printer to my HDA and make it a printer server, how do I do it?)]
= Adding an HDA networked printer using Using Amahi [https://www.amahi.org/apps/cups CUPS web-app ] application (Amahi7,Fedora19Fedora 19) =''in the following example the printer that it is used is a 'NOTE:''' For this scenario, HP DeskJet 1310 series, printer connected with USB''was used.
* remove everything regarding the Uninstall CUPS server and services and install the web-app CUPS server. yum erase cups*
* It is necessary to have a correct "''root''" user with correct root priviledgesInstall the Amahi [https://www.amahi. Now org/apps/cups CUPS server] application (appcurrently only available by request) will let us modify anything under the ''Administrative pages''.
* Connect per usb the printer and by clicking "find new printers" from inside the CUPS' ''config pages'' continue with installation. Then you will have Login credentials to chose the printer from a list. If for some reason there is not the correct model in the list you web management interface will have to find, download and install the correct PPD file. For this specific example we had to download in a desktop PC and manually add the correct PPD file from HP which you can find and extract from inside use the HP's linux driversroot user account.
* Navigate to ''Administrative pages''
* Connect the printer via USB
* Select "find new printers"
* You will need to install HPLIP for most HP printers
yum install hplip
* You will have to choose the printer from a list. If for some reason your printer model is missing, you will have to find, download and install the correct PPD file.
It is possible that you get under the "''manage printers''" page (HP13115_SERVER is my printers' name):
<< HP1315_SERVER hp psc 1310 series Local Printer '''NOTE:''' For this specific example we had to download in a desktop PC and manually add the correct PPD file from HP which you can find and extract from inside the HP PSC 1310 Series, hpcups 3.14's linux drivers.4 Idle - "File "/usr/lib64/cups/filter/hpcups" not available: No such file or directory" >>,
because Once installed, you should see the message from the ''HPLIP packagePrinter page'' is not installed there is nothing to create a link.:
by doing " <<HP1315_SERVER hp psc 1310 series Local Printer HP PSC 1310 Series, hpcups 3.13.11 ''yum install hplip'Idle'", (through a terminal editor), HPLIP was installed. Reboot the server just to be sure.''>>
The message from As everything indicates the CUPS' ''Printer page'' that you will get printer should be the following:<<HP1315_SERVER hp psc 1310 series Local Printer HP PSC 1310 Series, hpcups 3.13.11 '''Idle'''>>working!
As everything indicates the printer should be working! for more update info you can always check the following thread Ref: [https://forums.amahi.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5035&start=30 (Printer Help)Forum Article]
