= Installation in an existing Fedora machine =
'''NOTE:''' this is not the '''NOT''' a recommended method to install. The recommended method is doing , unless it [[self-'s done on a fairly clean install|from scratch]]of the distribution. The reason is that some things that may have been done to the machine that may affect the way the HDA Amahi behaves, and that may be hard to debug/fix.
RegardlessIt is important to note that, here are the install instructions for those more adventurous :-) * For Fedora Core 6, do this as root:<small><pre><nowiki> rpm -ivh http:///fedora7.amahi.org/noarch/hda-release-0.1-1.noarch.rpm</nowiki></pre></small>* For Fedora 7, do this as root:<pre><nowiki> rpm -ivh http://fedora7.amahi.org/noarch/hda-release-0.1-1.noarch.rpm</nowiki></pre>* Then, also as root, do this:<pre><nowiki> yum -y install 'hda*' hda-install <hda-id></nowiki></pre>* The quotes 'Amahi cannot be fully uninstalled''' in the yum command are importanttraditional sense, to prevent globbing.* Replace because the settings affect some subsystems across the machine and the hda-id with your hda-id, obviously* [https://sourceforgeoriginal state of those subsystems is not preserved.net/tracker/?func=add&group_id=197148&atid=960303 Report bugs in the install category]! :-)
