= Amahi 8 /9 (Fedora 21/23) Desktop Installation =
For TigerVNC to work a Desktop Environment must be installed even if the HDA does not boot to the selected Desktop Environment.
This installation is based on a clean installation of Amahi 8or 9, installing Fedora 21 /23 using the [https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Amahi_8_Install Fedora 21 Server DVD]/[https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Amahi_9_Install Fedora 23 Server DVD] and following the installation instructions [https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Fedora_21_Server_Install Fedora 21 Server Install ]/[https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Fedora_23_Server_Install Fedora 23 Server Install ].
The Cinnamon Desktop Environment was selected as it operates well on low spec computers. I will attempt other desktop environments over next few months.
For Amahi 9 on Fedora 23 , LXDE works. It has an extremely small footprint (~40Mb) and operates extremely well on old hardware.
