Fedora 14

ETA: several weeks from release of Fedora 14. We are in the early stages of development/testing stage for Amahi.

Development Notes

DISCLAIMER: These notes are for development of Amahi with Fedora 14. These notes are not by any means anything for users to follow. Please continue to install Fedora 12 for new Amahi installs. Fedora 14 is not OFFICIALLY supported yet by Amahi.

The following are not Amahi ready with Fedora 14 at this time:

• Plug

Fedora 14 DVD Downloads

32-Bit (3.4GB):	Http	Torrent

Amahi Repo

• 32-bit and 64-bit is ready.
• Use http://f14.amahi.org for install.
• App store is not complete yet - there are NO apps available.

Fedora 14 Install

Users are presented with a message that there are missing dependencies on Amahi packages:

Workaround

• Add the first repo in the list (fedora i386 on 32- bit and fedora x86_64 on 64-bit)
• This leaves one dependency issue--unrar
• Ignore it and click on continue.

These are all related to the platform and hdactl. Solution is being worked, but continuing has not broken install so far.

Amahi Install

• Web installer works.
• Open browser and navigate to http://localhost:2000
• Enter install code

Known Issues

• There is a problem with setting the timezone in PHP. There is a workaround in place currently to allow the install process to continue.

Apps Broken

• phpBB: Works, but has [phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /index.php on line 86: date(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'America/Chicago' for 'CDT/-5.0/DST' instead
• Mantis: Works, but has SYSTEM WARNING: date_default_timezone_get(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. • SABnzbd: Installed, but says 'Service Termporarily Unavailable'
• AjaXplorer: Installed, but get blank page.
