===Data Recovery ===
One policy in Amahi is, to the extent possible, not handle user data directly. At least until we can do it well and reliably. We are proud to say that we are not aware of any data loss caused by Amahi.

Based on [http://forums.amahi.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1152&p=6066 some user experiences], we have seen these tools help in recovering user data:

* [http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk TestDisk]: Data recovery software! It was primarily designed to help recover lost partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again when these symptoms are caused by faulty software, certain types of viruses or human error (such as accidentally deleting a Partition Table). Partition table recovery using TestDisk is really easy.

* [http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec PhotoRec]: software to recover lost files including video, documents and archives from hard disks, CD-ROMs, and lost pictures from digital camera memory.

* [http://www.howtoforge.com/data_recovery_from_accidentally_deleted_files_or_crashed_drives_in_redhat_centos_and_fedora_linux Data Recovery]: Recover accidentally deleted files or crashed drives.
