The Amahi HDA server can server any domain in your home network, including:

  • Domains that exist in the internet
  • Domains that do not exist in the internet
  • Subdomains
  • Top-level domains (real or made up). You probably do not want to use one that exist, otherwise you will not be able to reach it from your home network.

If your domain is the default, home.com, the machines in your network will be known for example as:

  • machine1.home.com
  • machine2.home.com
  • etc.

If your domain is joe (a top level domain), your machines will be known as:

  • machine1.joe
  • machine2.joe
  • etc.

... you get idea.
