The Amahi home server is a server operating system for home and home office environments.

Our focus is to build a home and personal server with usability, cross-platform standards complianceand coolness in mind.

It is meant to be installed by somewhat technical users, for the benefit of the those less technical users ultimately. Every technical user we know has others who he/she helps run their "digital lives," like spouses, kids, neighbors, cousins, elder relatives, etc. We set out to build a "PDA for the home" usable by everyone in a home or a small business. To describe what the Amahi server is, we came up with a term: '''HDA''' ... like a PDA, but for the home: Home Digital Assistant.
