Here are the DHCP tradeoffs if you would like to only use some of the functionality.</div> = Amahi 7 or greater (Fedora) = * Verify Advanced Settings is enabled ( Setup > Settings and check the box labeled Advanced Settings )* Select Network tab, then Settings.* Uncheck DHCP Server check box. = Amahi 6 (Ubuntu 12.04.x) = NOTE: See DHCP Server bug #932. There is a work around included in the report.
The DHCP server in the HDA can be stopped by doing this:
* First turn on Verify Advanced Settings, under Setup --> Settings is enabled.* Then go to the Setup --> Apps Settings --> Servers* Once there, find the DHCP Server and unselect both ":** Watchdog. DHCP Server is being monitored 24x7" and "** Start at Boot boot time"* Then stop it. It will be stopped forever In short, a few of the nicer features of your HDA will not be available. You can still point your machines to the DNS server in the HDA and get some of the benefits, like nice URLs for your HDA-provided services. This is not a supported configuration for things like Netboot.
