= Calendars =
Each HomeHDA server has a calendar server included.

The publishing URL for the calendar is

<pre><nowiki>
http://calendar/
</nowiki></pre>

This server is meant to share calendars with other people who can access the server.

Eventually we will have a web interface to the calendar server (accessible through the http://calendar/ URL itself), however, for the time being, you need to use a c
alendar program to publish and subscribe as well as set and delete appointments in calendars in the server.

= Publishing Calendars =
To publish or subscribe to a calendar in this server, you need three things:

1. A client calendar program,
1. The publishing location or URL, which is: http://calendar/, and
1. The calendar name of your choice, typically Home, John, Kids, etc.[* See Note]

== Calendar Clients ==
Calendars can be created with widely available clients such as:

* [http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/ical/ Apple iCal], for Mac OS X:

* [http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/ Mozilla Sunbird and Lightning (a perfect calendar companion for Thunderbird)], for Windows, Mac and Linux.

* [http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/features/details/calendar.mspx Windows Calendar], for Windows Vista.

* [http://www.gnome.org/projects/evolution/ Evolution], for Linux

* [http://http://www.kontact.org/ Kontact], for Linux

* ... and some others. Pretty soon there will also be web-based interfaces.

=== Note ===
[*] Some clients, notably Sunbird, may require that the name of the calendar have the ical extension, e.g. Home.ics. You may need to experiment with this until it w
orks. Please add your experiences to this page or add links to it.

= Technical Details =
Technically, every HDA server has a WebDAV server, commonly used for sharing online calendars as well as other files.
