The purpose of this page is to capture various issues and solutions for common or not so common problems that users may encounter.
It also provides links to perform various HDA Admin tasks with and without the HDA Dashboard.

Amahi Common
- Disable Router DHCP Server: Generic guidance for disabling DHCP server on some routers.
- Change DNS Provider: Change DNS from OpenDNS to different provider.
- Disable DHCP Server: Disable DHCP server on HDA.
- Change Gateway IP Address: Change the 3rd octet of the router/client IP addresses.
- Renew Client IP Address: Applies to Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.
- Enable Advanced Settings: Unhides advanced areas in Network and Setup tabs.
- Open terminal as root user: Command line access as root user.
- Adding hard drives: Add additional hard drives.
- Mount Shares Locally (Greyhole): Safely manage Greyhole enabled share files locally on the HDA.
- Configure Static IP Address: Create static IP address for client devices.
- Reset User Password: Use to reset a user's forgotten password.
- Virtual Private Network (VPN): Not included in Amahi 6 or 7, but is required for secure connection between your client and HDA. Amahi application VPN provides the capability.
- Configure Shares: Create, delete, and manage file shares.
- Hardware Changes: Steps for hardware changes on HDA (i.e. mother board, network card, etc).
Amahi 7 (Fedora 19)
- net-tools/bind-utils: Not installed in Amahi 7, but required to use ifconfig, netstat, route, nslookup, and some other network commands. Amahi application HDA Troubleshooting Tools provides the capability.
- Greyhole: Not installed in Amahi 7, but guidance is provided for manual install and configuration. There's no Amahi dashboard user interface, but it's under development (Amahi bug 1081).
- Manual Web App Creation: Not included in Amahi 7 (Amahi bug 1070), but guidance is provided for a temporary work around.
- Calendar Server: Calendar server is broken in Amahi 7(Amahi bug 1339), but this guidance will correct the problem.
Amahi 6 (Ubuntu 12.04.x)
- Secure Shell (SSH): Not installed in Amahi 6, but is required to remotely access your HDA, inside or outside your network. Amahi applications OpenSSH and Dropbear provides the capability.
- Manual Web App Creation: Creating a manual web app via the dashboard results in a "HTTP error 500" message. This work around should correct the issue (Amahi bug 977).
